4. Serenity
Accompanied by their mother, the Becker brothers pause before their father’s tomb. Thoughtfully, Tyler turns to Katy:
"Mother, have you ever heard of Lostblood?"
Katy freezes for a fraction of a second before sketching a discreet smile.
Katy: "Son, I cannot tell you much about that subject. Not now. You will have to discover it yourself—later, by other means."
Tyler is surprised by her answer. So, she knows something. It exists. These were not meaningless dreams, merely delusions created by his imagination.
Tyler: "But... does that mean I am Lostblood?"
She smiles at him again.
Katy: "I'm sorry, Tyler, but I really cannot tell you anything more. Everything will become clear to you soon. Trust me."
The late evening arrived, and the Beckers returned to their home by the lake for dinner.
Scott recounts to his younger brother the circumstances of his return to Lienwood. He remembers almost nothing—only leaving Staoslam city, crossing Chaford and Olkland, and then... a black hole. One morning, the inhabitants of Lienwood found him unconscious at the village entrance; his horse and his brother's were tied to a pine tree.
This story further unsettles Tyler. It is high time for him to go to sleep!
